A cute book about a boy and his pet, Slithery Jake. Slithery Jake gets lost and the rest of the book describes the family's search to find him. My brother enjoyed it when I read it to him, and it was short enough I didn't lose my voice/5. But it's not only scary, it's also sad that Sid's pet is gone, so the family makes a plan to help find Jake--which leads to one last surprise.

With just the right combination of shivers and slapstick comedy, this is a read-aloud that makes the coziest household objects suddenly a source of delicious, slithery /5(8). Sid brings home a found pet escapes from his room during the night. The search is on with the entire family to find Jake since no one can relax with a loose snake in the house.
